Installation Requirements
In addition to the files supplied on the distribution CD, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer requires the following software:
- Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 or later; or Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 or later; or Windows XP with Service Pack 1
- Oracle 8.1.7
- Oracle Lite 5.0.2.5.0 (if replication functionality will be implemented)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 with Service Pack 2 or later
- Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 or later*
Note: If this component is not installed on the machine, the installation wizard will not complete the installation process. If an older version of MDAC is detected, a warning message will be displayed. The installation process can be cancelled and then resumed later after these components have been installed or updated.
The readme file on the Bentley OpenUtilities Designer distribution CD contains detailed, up-to-date information about all required components and should be consulted prior to installation.
The information in the following sections assumes that the required Microsoft components are already installed and that Bentley OpenUtilities Designer is being installed for the first time.
